You'll only be able to go by Rumpelstiltskin or Rump for short. You'll have no last name. Even if you blow the million you'll have to keep the name for the rest of your life.

Some people may not like telling people their name is Rumpelstiltskin when asked.

Sure. People who know me know why. People who don't know me but need an introduction can be told I'm something else.

This would be a gigantic pain in the ass since you don't have a last name. Good luck when almost everything online and even in real life requires something for that field.

What your name is legally doesn't matter except for paper work, people can still call you what you want

Fun fact, you don't have to "go by" your legal name for anyone or anything beyond stuff like filling out your taxes.

For example, how often does your legal middle name come up, for those who don't ever go by that name?

Yep, and most of the time even for paper work you can use an alias instead of your "legal" name. People do this all the time.

I mean, it's a slightly more reasonable name than Barkevious and that mofo (presumably the only one in the world with that name) made millions.

Not in this scenario. No one's allowed to call you anything else per sentence 1.

Is this like a mind control thing, or is it simply legal consequences if they call you something else? And what if it's someone who only knows me under a different identity from back in my superhero or my spy days? Do they just magically know my name is Rumpelstiltskin?
