Fucking stoked. Mirage was a snorefest. Give me a big expansive game worthy of my time and money.

I'd still love a GOT inspired AC game, same for a South American one.

And they say Call of Duty puts out too many games.

It's a shame that when they finally cave and give us the ninja Ass Creed we've been asking for since forever, it's after they pulled a Dominos on us.

I saw a video of one of the new style ones and when the guy jumped off a roof and stabbed the enemy in the neck, the enemy got back up and started fighting him, and I was just like nope, I'm done with this series.

More excited for Hexe, but I'll probably give this one a try.

Ill watch the reveal but tbh my interest in the series tanked when they dumped the modern storyline. I had been hoping they were building toward a full game set in the present.

The new game is something where this SHOULDN'T happen when you're playing as a fucking ninja.

I own like 3 of these games and never even finished the first one.

I'm not looking because these know how to get to me and I never find the time to play 'em

I've had no desire to play anything in the series since Odyssey, and I can't see that changing now.

As opposed to an enemy you shoot in the head 40 times to kill?

I mean all games have damage sponge enemies.

I imagine it's a little more irritating when the entire series is about you being an Assassin, a person who brings death at a moment's notice, the knife-thrust in the heart of tyranny.

Then you routinely fuck up stabbing a guy standing alone in a field.

Valhalla has an option to enable guaranteed assassinations, so hopefully this game has it as well

They do not. There are many games where you just shoot people in the head, and they fucking die. Call of Duty has over 20 games already. Assassin's Creed was like this until Ubisoft, being Ubisoft, thought reinvent the game in order to peddle microtransactions for Diablo-esque gear stats.

It's not that damage sponges are inherently bad, it's just that, in the example listed, it super sucks in both aesthetic and gameplay.

The plot was fine in concept, it's just that they kept fucking up the execution in most respects. Actually, the nonstandard gameplay sections were parts I would consider highlights. The lore and relevance gained in the sticky note sections of Black Flag were pretty clever.

They basically went the dark souls route and it paid off big for them, as valhalla was their best selling game by far.

Best selling doesnt mean best quality, though. I bought it and never finished it. Played Black Flag numerous times, though.

This is something I wanted as far back as ACII... but given what this franchise has turned into it's hard to be excited.

Valhalla and Odyssey aren't all that different. If people hated Origins and Odyssey, then Valhalla wouldn't be the top seller for the company. What randoms on the internet cry about doesn't matter. Being a vocal minority is an internet thing, not a reality thing.

I don't give a shit. Opinions are like assholes. However saying stupid shit is also saying stupid shit. Ubisoft clearly understands how to make money since the 50th game in the franchise is the top selling one.

I really miss Tenchu, so if the game features true assassination missions, and tones down some of the crafting and stuff, I might be interested in this.

Odyssey is the only one I've liked, mainly because it didn't play like an AC game.

I'm trying to remember, was there crafting in Valhalla? I know Odyssey had you crafting arrows and shit. But from what I remember from Valhalla it was just collecting fish and shit and then turning them in for rewards.

I think you used items to upgrade stuff, I suppose that's crafting, but it wasn't like you were non stop crafting weapons or whatever like WoW or something.

Valhalla was good but it should not have been an AC game.
It would have been better served just being the story of Eivor and the Vikings without the AC crap.

We already had a Samurai AC....it was called Ghost of Tsushima
