Also because the bubbles are heavy and roll along the ground rather than float away

So both pronunciations could work, but in the 'metal' sense it would work better as "Lead Bubble"

I suppose that doesn't ever stop pronunciation factions from popping up and digging in. I always think of the discussions on how to pronounce Serge's name from Chrono Cross, when you could look at how it was written in the original to see the intended pronunciation clearly.
