Burgers are necessarily beef. If you swap the beef with chicken, it becomes a chicken sandwich.

If you grind up chicken and make a patty, it can then be a chicken burger.

Hmm.
Dictionaries are for lexicography. We're talking philosophy here.

I can accept this. Perhaps it is the ground nature of the meat that qualifies it as a burger. After all, I wouldn't accept a steak on a bun as a burger either.

Dictionaries are descriptive, not prescriptive. If it's used often enough, dictionaries will include factually incorrect definitions.

The shape of the meat is what defines a "burger", if you throw some meatloaf between two buns it doesn't suddenly become a meatloaf burger just because it's beef, it's still a meatloaf sandwich.

There was literally 9 minutes between you making this statement and you accepting that you were wrong.

That has to be a record on CE.

Because ham is the German word for beef. Also er is the German word for ground.

The German word Burg is believed to have been lost in the 16th century, along with whatever it refers to, which would technically make them hamers. The hamBURGer would be an ancestor of what we think of as a hamburger, with an extra ingredient. Based on historical records of extinct animals, some experts have speculated that it refers to a unicorn horn, a dodo, or a scale of the leviathan. In the last case, the leviathan may have actually been fished to extinction by the 15th century Prussian fast food tyrants believed to be descended from Atilla the Hun. Archaeologists have therefore been searching for decades for clues about this unbelievable 15th century preservation technology.
