But then I look at the content on cable and how much it costs and it doesn't seem so bad.

I just said fuck it and don't really watch new TV shows or movies at home anymore. I've been watching X Men 97 with a friend and Chucky with my sister but now that those are over for the season, I really don't have anything current to watch even if someone else is paying for it.

I do pay for Apple Music though because I use and enjoy that daily but that's it. If I'm watching something online, it's going to be YouTube.

However, I have been buying DVDs again and set up my own media server with TV shows and movies I like. I might keep expanding that.

I just rotate. Most non netflix/hulu/max streamers are incredibly limited in original content, so you can easily burn through half or a third of P+, apple, or peacock content in like a month.

Besides, we have quite a bit of freebies with Pluto, Tubi and even YouTube channels. Tubi you'd almost think was criminal with Hanna Barbera and Hasbro classics, plus even Tokusatsu.

I pay like a combined 40 dollars a year for Hulu, peacock, and Paramount Plus. Gotta look out for those yearly deals.

Been collecting blue rays and dvds my whole life, living with someone now who does the same, she and I combined our collections (and any friends and relatives who can lend us some stuff) and we're running a big plex server. Got over a thousand movies and nearly a thousand shows now.

No but he used to go on amd on about great streaming is and I can't miss an opportunity to point out how useless he was.
