Also how long do you think this will go on for?

Its not just a case of weapons but of troops as well. Ukraine have killed a lot of Russians but lost a lot themselves and Russia has a much bigger population to draw from.

I think another 12 months and it ends after the next election in the US. Russia hoping Trump gets in.

I choose Other. Because I have been on NCD too much.

Russia does the "Funni" and everyone loses. But Russia loses the most. When you ignore a bully's threats too long, they eventually punch you. That is how bullies work. And Russia has (possibly working) nuclear punches.

Well, more then possibly. Its their one remaining claim to fame. And frankly, its less that their stuff doesn't work and more that they are incompetent. So yes. The missiles and their warheads still work.

There needed to be a greater push to get Ukraine to victory before Republicans took the US House.

After that aid slowed down and Ukraine started losing. They were never going to do great in a war of attrition because they simply have less people than Russia.

Ukraine regains their loses, but going back to 2014 isnt feasible without nato intervention.

Ukraine's endgame is a restoration of their territory including crimea.

Realistically, this probably concludes with Russia keeping some portion of the land they've taken. The question is going to be whether Ukraine can push Russia back enough that they restore access to most of their Coast or whether Russia ends up keeping their land bridge to crimea, which functionally turns Ukraine into an almost landlocked state with a significant chunk of their fertile land and natural resources now in Russian territory. That's how Russia has done it literally every other time they've done this in the last 100 years and I don't see any compelling reason to think it'll end any differently this time.

Russia is in a war economy. Their economy is burning hot, but also burning fast. If Russia cannot win within 1-2 years, it will burn itself up and plunge into an economic crisis.
If the war ends, however, then their war economy will collapse, and Russia will plunge into an economic crisis.
It's a Catch-22 situation.

I kinda feel like people were saying two years ago Russia would be in crisis if it was still going two years later. I think it depends how much support Xi wants to give POOtin.
