Barring any unforeseen issues, the current plan for launch is:
Launch the remake on Weds, May 22. During the conversion process, both sites will be down for roughly 4 hours.
Afterwards, the site remake will be live at the backloggery.com address.
The old site will remain live for one month's time at backloggery.club, but will be in a read-only mode. This is a last fallback in case of any undiscovered problems with the database conversion. Users can reference the old site if needed to verify or correct their data.
==========================================
Some reminders for those just tuning in, if you're caught up feel free to skip to the changelog down below.
I once again highly recommend updating your systems if needed, as noted in the data migration posts linked below. >>>Especially if you're using PSN as a main system for any games.<<< Updating games from PSN to PS3 (PSN), for example, will keep your PSN games from being potentially converted to the wrong PlayStation system.
If you would prefer your game comments to be converted into Reviews instead of becoming part of the expanded game notes field, change your backloggery.com footer text to "Reviewer" without the quotes.

The sites up and running, time to make whatever changes you need to.

https://www.patreon.com/posts/104736678

To the inevitable "they changed it and now it's bad" crowd, I hope you'll give the new site a chance. I heard the same thing about the last site remake waaaaay back in 2011, and now some people don't want to let it go. But more importantly, there's plenty of things I don't like about the new site currently. And I'm sure we'll find more issues as we move from "pretending to use the site remake" to "actually using it". But if we put our heads together, we can iron all the wrinkles out. Any and all (polite) feedback is appreciated.

Seems like it's working now.

God this looks like shit. My favorite part is that you can edit colors but only certain ones, while others are beyond your control or are seemingly automatically selected shades of your picked colors.

As opposed to the previous site where you had direct control over all of it.

the two biggest issues I have are 1) dynamic width bars rarely actually look good, and 2) the huge empty space on the left under your profile pic / username

let me just have numbers for platform summary and put something in that empty space (like, I dunno, the stuff that was already there on the old version) and it's a million times better

I miss having friends' activities right on the same page as your own. Now I have to go out of my way if I want to see what others are up to.

Outside of just generally not liking the new design because 'they changed it and now it's bad' along with a dash of custom 'I'm old and want my stuff to look the same', not having the friends updates on the main page feels bad. Not that I had enough friends on the site to make it all that active, but I'm honestly just not going to click the multitap tab, pretty much ever.

Yeah I don't understand why the most recent updates to timeline and multitap don't just go on the left in the huge open space. I mean website redesigns fucking LOVE huge open spaces that exist for no reason so in that context I understand it, but that mindset is so baffling to me.

the redesign is very clearly to make it look good on mobile, with very little thought put into how it looks on desktop - that little box is just on top of the rest on mobile

just give us a desktop version of the site

Oh lmao this explains a LOT.

Not gonna hold my breath for a desktop version but it would definitely be nice to have

The community and I have spent months looking for bugs in the database conversion, but it's entirely possible we missed something. Even if we didn't, there was some "dumb" data on the old site that was never going to convert well and other parts had to be inferred. If nothing else, here's what I recommend you check out:
Game Formats (Physical/Digital)
This option wasn't on the old site, but it could be inferred to some extent by the platform the game was on. For some platforms, like Steam, obviously every game should be digital. Others, like pre-Internet consoles, could be presumed physical.
History / Game Milestones
The old site's Memory Card was "dumb" data, not properly connected to anything. While stitching things back together logically worked better than I hoped, definitely wasn't 100%. If you care about those dates, I recommend saving a copy of your Memory Card and double-checking things.
PSN Games
I've long regretted how PSN was handled on the old site and this is where we have to rip that band-aid off. If you used some combination of systems, like PS5 (PSN), you should be fine. But if you listed things as simply PSN...well, that could mean a lot of things. We've defaulted things to PS4 and marked digital. If that's not correct for you, you can check out the auto-generated PSN list under the Lists tab. There you should find all the PSN games with no obvious system to call home.
Compilations
These should largely have come out fine. Still, there were a few instances of weirdness (like a missing game note) here I was never able to get to the bottom of, so it's worth a look. The format for the parent game might also need to be corrected.

I wonder if the Multitap is still capped at 100 users. I'm not seeing that under the FAQ stuff, so I may randomly add some people to test that out

It's weird that if I beat every game in a compilation I still have to mark the compilation itself as finished

I just mark compilations as None unless theres content specific to them (like the bonus RtDL-type challenge levels in Kirbys Dream Collection).
