im not trolling people just love to attach a negative connotation to everything these days. Nothing I said was racist perhaps a little stereotypical and ignorant but I never said anything negative about Islam or people who practice it.

First of all, it was VERY stereotypical. Second, something doesn't have to be a negative to be racist. You really should educate yourself because you do sound racist and ignorant. Instead of arguing from a place of admitted ignorance, perhaps listen to others and try to learn/grow?

She could go to a mosque and just call it a church thinking you wouldn't know what a mosque is.

In fairness to TC, I've known a Muslim who wore a cross before.

But yeah, judging by her talking about church she's Christian, probably. Especially if you're in an area with a large Muslim population; the assumption in such places is that everyone knows what a mosque is on account of one or more existing in the neighborhood

"She looks middle eastern so I assume she's Muslim" is absolutely racist, whether you accept it or not. Racists often don't accept that they're racist so that's a moot point.

you have a very narrow view of what racism is tbh

racism is, put simply, making assumptions about someone based on their race. which you did, despite evidence to the contrary. in fairness to you, you did then ask, just in case. so you weren't as racist as you could have been

all you need to do is say that next time, you won't look at a brown person talking about Christianity and automatically assume they're Muslim because they're brown and all will be well imo (and then, naturally, act on it)

I'm not going to gaslight you as I don't think you're intention was to be racist. As long as you can make this a learning experience, that's a great first step. My next question would be which part of the US do you live? Is it a fly over state or something?

im a 1st gen Haitian American who lives in ATL GA. I know what racism is like I said before I might have been ignorant but i didnt say anything malicious

The thing with racism is that it doesn't have to be malicious, it can be inadvertent.
