Assuming you're serious, it's because girls weren't a ready target. Priests and altar boys were in church together for long periods with no supervision because the priest was a trusted person.

Im ignorant on religion. Why arent there alter girls? Its kind of weird that a religion that was against gays had its own priests rape boys and not girls.
