I'm at End of the World in KH1, and I'm at the place before you fight Ansem. What would be good places to grind so I'm at level 55-60? I'm at level 53 right now.

I would probably go to Hollow Bastion. Though TBH, you can't really go wrong anywhere, since all worlds get high-level Heartless after you beat Riku-Ansem

Just avoid the secret Final Mix Heartless, they're gimmicky and not good for grinding

Edit: nevermind I saw you're playing the original in that other thread, you don't need to worry about the FM Heartless

If you're just in it for the game, skip CoM. It's a nightmare to play. Worst KH game by a country mile.

If you want the story though... unfortunately Chain of Memories is required.

If nothing else you could just watch the cutscenes on YouTube if you don't like the gameplay.

Otherwise you might be confused when you start up 2.

I forget, did you beat the Hades Cup? It's a decent convenient way to grind and it also unlocks tiers for a couple spells, although they might not be helpful spells for the final bosses.

Definitely watch the cutscenes for Re/CoM. 2's opening stretch is really special and it loses some oomph when you don't know about Chain. But playing it right after 1 isnt a good idea since most of it is just an abridged version of 1 with a worse battle system

I remember the Gizmo Shop in Traverse Town being pretty good

I did. That wave of Heartless TC was talking about in the other thread was a nightmare.
