I was already an adult in the military by the time the first games came out and I never paid attention to handheld gaming. It was already a massive franchise that had covered games, anime, cards, and had become a full blown global empire by the time I had ever heard of it. i never tried to catch up or learn. I was primarily a PlayStation gamer and most of the games werent available to me.
