The final level has an absurd difficulty spike since most the game is very easy.

I had a Gameboy in the 80s, but never played SML2 until I got it on the 3DS. Its an incredibly advanced game for the system it was on. Very very impressive.

It was the best 2-D Mario game imo, and the best soundtrack out of any Mario game.

That game is interesting. You can breeze through 95% of the game in 1 or 2 hours then there's a huge difficulty spike in the final castle.
