Looks great. Loved the hug scene.

it doesn't even try to be tonally similar to the original. it's just another boring, ugly animated comedy just like the majority of them

The hug scene was the best part and most in the spirit of the original show. Most of the rest was goofy cartoon antics like the car crashing scene.

I mean, it's a 30 second trailer for a 30 minute show, trailers for TV shows are rarely good in the first place, since there's normally 10+ hours of content consolidated into a minute.

Yep. I'm guessing the show's will explain that Buck died again and was reincarnated into a similar breed of dog Buck used to be.

Doesn't look terrible but seems really pointless. The comparison with the Napoleon Dymamite cartoon ITT is pretty accurate. With that said I laughed at the joke with the robber.

No it should have been animated like old South Park episodes

Kelly and Bud are so off model it's jarring. Al and Peggy look fine. Only got a laugh from the hug scene like others did.

Nobody is saying it's good animation, we're just saying it fits. Most adults don't watch these kinds of shows for good animation, so it just logically makes sense to put less budget there. Yes, you absolutely could put more money and effort into the animation, but there's really no point when the type of audience this would reach wouldn't care about that. And with a show like this, what would even be gotten out of it? Super crisp, clean, highly detailed animation of Al sticking his hand in his pants? It'd be wasted on a show where the characters barely move in any given scene, anyway, like a sitcom.

Even though I love the original show I doubt I'll ever watch this but I dig that they at least have the correct voices and that the internal layout of the house is correct in the frame I saw even though the color is distinctly different.

It's a different color because it's a different house. It just happens to look like the old one in its layout, which is a nice reference. They've moved to... Florida? California? I don't know, something coastal.

EDIT: Dumpwater, Florida, which is the location they visited in the actual show.

Yes I didn't convey it well in my statement but you could tell by the outside it was a different house. I'm just saying I enjoyed the nod to the original interior layout in the framed shot. In my mind I had a "California" vibe from the setting but I could be wrong.

*edit* Hah I just saw your edit and it is hilarious it is Dumpwater Florida. That is great.

Ah, gotcha. Yeah, I actually enjoy the small nods like that. I might give it a try just because of stuff like that and having the original actors, though my expectations are low.

We need less dogshit remakes & reboots, especially when they're going to completely fuck something up like this.

I'd love to see characters like the D'Arcys and Griff, but I could see them not being in it specifically since they did have the Bundys move.

Hopefully they show up, anyway.

I hate Steph Curry now, because of that. That is one of the worst thing I have ever seen and I just watched the trailer.
