Absolutely not, they're probably the biggest grocery scam there is. You're paying about ten times the price or more just to have somebody else cut your food for you.

If you're not confident that you can cut a vegetable yourself with a knife, spend $20 on a Slap Chop.

Which isn't what they are used for. Its used for convenience, and savoury pies. If you bake a meat pie with fresh vegetables, its more difficult than baking one with frozen vegetables. Something to do with temperatures. And I can promise you that frozen veggies, at least where I'm from? they are way cheaper than fresh. I get a pack of fresh peppers for about 7 bucks CAD. 1 bag of frozen chopped peppers is 10 bucks and there are at least 15-20 peppers in there. Maybe even more.

Not only is it not worth it price-wise, but the precut stuff isn't as fresh. Like precut onions will be slightly translucent where they've been exposed to air and sitting out for a while.

The only thing precut I buy is julienned carrots because fuck doing that by hand.

For vegetables you should get frozen unless you shop at a farmers market or something similar. Any fresh veggie at the grocery store was picked too early and ripened on the way, frozen was picked at the right time and stored properly, much better taste and nutrients than the other stuff.

Frozen vegetables taste like shit. They're only useful if you plan on throwing them into like a stew or something where you're not going to taste them anyways

It depends on the vegetable, carrots I would say yes, onions I would say no for example.

The 'fresh' stuff cut daily in a store was sometime convenient when I didn't have a bunch of time after work for making dinner, but that was a very rare thing to do.

It really doesn't take that long to buy some veggies, wash them, then dice them myself.

Pre-sliced fruit and veggies are needlessly expensive, oxidized, and a food poisoning risk.

Everything has different uses. Regardless, I live in a province where veggies are 1 week from spoiling so frozen just makes more sense in some cases.

Only shredded lettuce, because I don't know how to shred lettuce

I sometimes get them when theyre on sale because theyre close to their sell by date, I doubt I would ever otherwise. I like chopping vegetables though.

Depends on which veggie/fruit and how much free time/disposable income you got.

Also if you have arthritis or something. Repetivie motions like chopping suck shit with that I'm sure.
