I realize I'm a little late on this one but figured I'd post.

Show was really enjoyable and great when the plot was on but man my one real gripe is how much main plot got sidelined. Way too much weekly serial type stuff.

Sasha > Marcy > Anne ofc

I remember really enjoying amphibia when it was on but I don't think about it much now

I think about Owl House a ton still though, did you watch that? shared universe with Amphibia I think

Anne > Sasha > Marcy

It's not shared universe, but

I've watched half of Owl House. I loved it. I would put both it (and She-Ra) above Amphibia. I would maybe expect to not think too much of Amphibia but my gf likes frogs and we watched it together so

Amphibia and Owl House are shared universe. They then both travel to different universes from the same earth.

There is a missing girl story for Anne on the Mom's tablet in Owl House at one point when they cut back to Earth.

There was also a crossover special but I don't know if that was canon.

I absolutely adore Amphibia.

While on the whole I think the likes of Owl House, She-Ra, and Infinity Train are better overall packages, Amphibia has some of my favorite highs between all of them. However, yes, consistency is key and it's where Amphibia falls behind in this. I enjoyed the episodic content in season 1 and 2. However, the first half of season 3 was, for the most part, very disappointing. At this point, episodes like "Hop competes with a human that looks like Hop Pop to become an actor" had no business taking up time in the show, and they should have been in the human world for at MOST, like, 4 episodes.

Those final 2 episodes really rule, though.

Sasha was my fav, we really should have gotten so much more of her in S3.

I cried so many times at that finale! Hard to believe it's been two years. I was pretty used to the weekly-adventure-with-slow-burn-epic-plot from Steven Universe (which was my previous favourite cartoon), but I did feel that both started to drag about 2/3 into their episodes.

There was actually an Owl House/Amphibia crossover live read at Comic-Con 2021, with some fan animatics up on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDYwsSeV_9Q

Steven Universe is still towards my top, AT as well. The Fiona and Cake series from last year was incredible, so happy that's getting an S2.

I'm not aware of any western cartoons that are following in the footsteps of all these shows at the moment. Considering how many ended via cancellation, I think a lot of teams just aren't willing to take the risk on a narrative focused show anymore, with how much executives notoriously hate them.

Dragon Prince on Netflix is definitely a narrative driven western cartoon.

Though that's more Avatar than Amphibia.

I need to finish Owl House. I was loving it but then my girlfriend wanted to watch the rest of it with me and then we watched Amphibia instead. So I stopped halfway through S2. It was so good though.

The Owl House really said screw the execs and just went all in on everything it wanted to do.

So it got cancelled for it lol.

At least they still did a great job wrapping it up.
