Funerals are a scam. I don't want some price gaugers profiteering over my passing once I'm gone.

Please don't kill me, my family can't afford it.

You can buy caskets from Costco for a substantially lower cost than getting them from the funeral home.

And Amazon has amazing prices on urns.

At least parts of it are. I can understand the casket and a plot of ground, but everything else and the flowers can be written off.

There are trailers to carry a casket, there are venues that rent by the hour and ample planning can keep so many people from needing to ferry the dead half-way across the city. I already never understood why folks needed a limo for a such a somber occasion. Give me a short bus. We're just driving down the block anyway (^-^).

Cremation is an alternative, and if you can't afford it, you can donate the body to science and they'll either send the ashes to you at no cost or release them out at sea.

I'm not big on cremation... I mean, efficient bodily disposal is ok by me, but there's something at irks me about wastefully burning something. I'd rather be eaten or composted or something useful.

Cremation isn't cheap either. It cost over $3000 to have my late husband cremated, and that was just the most barebones option. No coffin, no viewing, no services, nothing, not even an urn. I literally got his ashes back in a cardboard box.

In the UK you can be wrapped in a cloth and dumped in a 2ft grave so foxes don't dig you up as long as you get someone to finalise a death certificate first.

tbh, I'm not sure anybody can afford to die anymore.

I'm planning to have my organs and body donated for transplant and research. If not, I wish to be cremated and buried in a Bio urn to help the environment. I do not expect a funeral because nobody would attend, and everyone would be glad when I'm gone.
