No mention of unlimited shrimp in their plea. They are definitely killing it and their restaurants will die.

They sell the cheddar bay biscuits at the grocery store now, no wonder nobody goes to the restaurant now.

They've at least been selling the mix in stores for 10+ years now. We used to get it every once in a while and they actually tasted like the ones in the restaurants, though I can't say I could cook them as consistently well as they did. I saw that they sell frozen premade ones now, so maybe that's what you're referring to. I wonder if any of it'll still be sold if the restaurants close.

Anyway, I don't think I've been to one in 5+ years now, though that's probably because I don't eat seafood. They had other options which were okay for me, such as steak and chicken, though none of it was as good to me as what I could get from restaurants that focused on those things, and they also changed to recipe for at least the chicken a year or two before COVID. Good potatoes and biscuits, at least. I just took a look at the location near me's menu and what I used to get would probably cost me double now, so I doubt I'll be going for one last hurrah.

there's technically another part in this where their all you can eat shrimp special was such a dumb idea because we're americans, you tell us all you can eat and you're goddamn right we'll eat.

so yeah that lost millions.
coupled with the BS rent stuff, no surprise they went bankrupt.

Endless Shrimp lost them $11 million and theyre a billion dollars in debt.

Its the avocado toast of reasons why theyre struggling.

Additionally, the endless shrimp probably would have made money, but the private equity company forced them to always buy a certain amount without regard to whether there was enough demand, and also required them to buy from a specific supplier that they also owned and charged above market rate for the shrimp

....man this private equity company needs to have all the names involved publicized.

Crippling fact is that biscuits were never that good. Eat any carb and fat when you're hungry and it will be similar (see: basic bread and olive oil at italian places). Outback bread and butter is way more significant.
