I'm listening to old elvis duran shows(like 2017) and dey were talking about it and i needed something to watch after i finished Pluto yesterday

The show is as awful as the main characters hairdo.

i think people mostly liked season 1 enough to call it acceptable binge trash even with its problematic elements and corny writing. if it weren't for the framing and controversy i feel like nobody would care

people really were mixed on season 2 and afaik everyone hated the last seasons. i think it got too bad to even hatewatch

When I first started the show, I expected 13 valid and important reasons why Hannah did what she did.

However, upon initially watching the show, I was disappointed as to some of the 13 reasons why. Dont get me wrong, some of the reasons are solid and would traumatize anyone, but many of the reasons are what I would consider petty.

I remember one reason in particular was that she gets into an argument with her friend that she started!

On top of that, some of the choices Hannah makes are very difficult to understand because they are such poor choices and decisions.

That said, afterwards I tried to remember that Hannah is a high school girl not making the best decisions and from her perspective her reasons are important to her.

So yea, first season was a mixed bag for me. Second season was actually an improvement over the first, but that could be because it was more of what I was expecting in the first season. Though second season had a terrible ending.

Third and fourth seasons dont even bother, theyre just bad.

Do not watch beyond season 1 imo. The source material stops after that and it was pretty clear to see.

There honestly should never have been more than one season for that show. Nearly all of her reasons were very basic things everyone has to go through.

The biggest controversial scene near the end was edited out so you probably won't get the full effect.

And the idea is that the 13 separate reasons converging at once are what pushed her, obviously no individual event was enough to be such a huge issue.

Yeah, that'd be a pretty big deal-breaker for me though if statistically it decreased real people doing it then I totally understand.

I watched it when it first released and thought it was pretty okay but not great. I loved, I think it was Tony? Watched the second season though which I can barely remember and then stopped caring about the show entirely.

I may be one of the few, but I liked season two more than one. It delt more with the fallout from season one.

whoever acted as the mom did way too good a job and the show didn't deserve her. basically everyone else was pretty bad at acting, though they weren't given the best lines and characterization

That's definitely the main thing I remember from the second season, and it was pretty powerful in places. It wasn't the meat of the season though and the rest of it just kinda droned on.
