ZM and the Prime series are the last Metroid games I've liked) but it wasn't terrible or anything. It was a seriously fucking good game when you look at what it had to compete with in the 8 Bit era (a lot of the NES games had problems, and that's ON TOP of the problems that the console had, like the slowdown when too many moving sprites are lined up). Dread is near Super Metroid's level of excellence.
