No probs Gen, since Wakka is apparently being postponed until next year or maybe never, I thought I might as well try to get Braska in here so he could make his stats, walk Yuna down the aisle one last time (Seymour's wedding of course), and then make his glorious exit to the Farplanes.

junk, you just need to nominate something else and have it stand-in as a proxy for FFX Bahamut. Might I suggest this, which I found on the FF wiki:

I put major effort into getting Bahamut in last year. And then TC gave him the Bahamut (FF1) label for the contest, which is not who I was working hard to get nommed. If I had wanted Bahamut (FF1) I wouldve nommed Bahamut (FF1).

I nommed him in the same spirit I wouldve nommed Behemoth. Meant as a franchise wide net. In the end, TC changed my nom and wont let me reclaim it back.

Could you at least put him in his own category? Summons/monsters. I mean you let 13 different Moogles in last contest.

Bahamut FFXVI is about as different as you can get from Bahamut FF2. Much as any of the many Moogles are at least. I dont mind Moogles at all. All hail Good King Moggle Mog XII.

I don't think summons do well in general, but I think splitting them into specific versions won't really help them because there are people who won't want to save the FFX version, but they might save the summon because they like it in FFVIII instead.

I personally would definitely vote FFX Shiva specifically with a bit more priority than just Shiva. I would vote FFIV Odin with a bit more priority too.

But I'm also a very erratic saver of either one. I basically never save Odin.

But I could see some people doing that with Bahamut or others.

But yes, if you want him in as a "franchise wide net," that's what you got. Bahamut being listed under its first appearance doesn't actually change that.

Would Bahamut's Fayth (FFX) count as a separate character and thus a reasonable proxy for junk? I mean he does have an entirely different design, plot relevance, and several lines of spoken dialog.

For the record, discourse such as this is the reason why the only summon I've ever nominated from X is Anima. No confusion there, just pure unadulterated original character, BABY!

I guess my point is that with summons I don't care about that much (Bahamut) I do have a preference, and it isn't FFX, but I'm not sure I'd ever save him anyway whether listed as FFX or generically.

On the other hand Shiva or to a much lesser extent Odin, summons I care about more, I think it moves the needle positively enough that I could actually plausibly save them reliably.

It's weird but I could see it helping just because of how save dynamics are

If someone specifically nominated Shiva from any game that ISN'T FFX I would never vote her

But she mainly fights for scraps anyway and might get a higher priority vote if she was FFX specifically from me which might help her survive early rounds

Ill be supporting FFXVI with my noms, just sorting it out now. Joshua is tempting. He needs some love.

We can nominate the Mog from the Moogle House game (FF7), Mog from the Chocobo and Mog summon that is in FF7, and the new Doctor Seuss style Mog from FF7 rebirth which is clearly a different character from the other two

Someday people will get tired of the drain of nominating in characters and the struggle to keep them alive, and instead put their nomination slate to a good cause (10 narshe moogles). I only need 12 other users to make it happen... someday, I still believe...

Yeah, I figured they were all supposed to be named after the Knights of the Round Table, but I didn't know if it was ever official.

Since junk rescinded his save, I still have 3 more trades available for a Braska nom.
