I lost interest when they intially renewed it with the Eccleston run. Think I realised then that I'd grown out of this series.
Eccleston is my fave doctor

I'm still bummed he only did one series but at least it was (mostly) a great one.

After Bill left, I couldnt get back into it.

Also, stick it out for Donna. People may say shes overrated, but she is such a fun companion to me. 9 and 10 are definitely peak Who imo.

I don't have a particularly strong opinion of him, more so that it was just the show itself didn't appeal to me anymore.

It seems like after Tennent, interest started dropping with each new Doctor. The same thing happened after Baker left.

Second-best Tennant companion. They had some really good moments.

Ill take a wild guess and assume Rose is number 1, as it should be.

Unbelievably, he did return to the role recently to do some audio dramas.

It makes sense

He's always contended that he loved the character and had no issues returning for it, he just refused to ever work with the BBC again.

I don't hate Rose like so many find it fashionable to, but I don't think she's best.

As my two favorites are Eccleston and Capaldi, the fact I'm never going to get an on screen crossover episode with them kills my soul a little bit.

I want to say that Matt's era was when the show was at its outright most popular across the board, but I have no source for it. Pretty sure I read it somewhere, though.

The stranglehold Tennant has on the series is quite something. His Doctor isn't even bad, but some fans act like he's the only one who matters.

Handles wasn't anything more than a hard drive. He was stripped of everything that would have made him a companion before the Doctor found him in a scrap yard.

That's me right now. I'll explain. I had BBCA during most of nuwho. I saw jodies first season. It wasn't good. It had too many companions. Anyway with it getting moved around to a different service. I'm not going to chase it around and pay for servces I dont care to use. It was something I was losing Interest in anyway

How was the Whittaker run?

She and Mandip Gill were both brilliant. Bradley Walsh and John Bishop were very good (but they very much played themselves - especially with John Bishop it felt more like The Doctor was just travelling with a celeb on board).

It has probably the best Master since Delgado, and a great recurring character in Jo Martin's Doctor. And I actually really liked the way that they made returning monsters look like they did in the 70s, only... better (like the Crash N. Sane trilogy, they look just how you remember them looking in your childhood - which obviously isn't how they actually looked, haha).

But the scripts were mostly dogshit. Demons of the Punjab is the only genuinely good episode of the first season (Rosa has some brilliant scenes and some great acting, but the villain being so shit taints it). The opening and closing stories of the second season are good but not great, with the bits in between being really bad.

Like, not just "weak stories" or "poor dialogue" bad - more like "jarringly goes against what the characters should stand for" bad. At one point one of the companions tells The Doctor that he's scared his cancer is going to come back, and she tells him to fuck off because he's making her uncomfortable. And another episode features a very obvious expy for Amazon, and aired when all the stuff about how badly the staff were treated was all over the news, and thr employees trying to fight for better conditions against their mega corporate employers were unequivocally treated as the bad guys for standing up for themselves.

I actually did like Flux though - it was maybe an episode too long, but given that it's the same length as The Dalek's Masterplan, and only 50 minutes shorter than Trial of a Timelord, I actually think it maintains its pace without sagging better than those two stories do.

And Power of The Doctor is probably the most I've enjoyed an episode of Doctor Who since it came back. I do need to stress that that's a very different thing to thinking it's one of the best episodes, because it clearly isn't (in fact, it's utterly nonsensical) , but more than any other episode of the modern era it feels like a love letter to the classic era, and is pure, shameless fanservice, but I'm exactly the sort of fan it was serving so I'll allow it, haha.

I loved the show until Capaldi left. I was actually looking forward to see a female Doctor. But those first two or three episodes were so bad I never watched it again until just a few days ago.
I started watching David Tennent's new episodes and I intend to try out the new season.

Jodie's first season is weird to me, cuz I remember not liking it when it aired, but looking back it's somehow probably her best season.

Though, I still wouldn't say it's great by any measure of the definition, but it's the only season with multiple episodes that I can bring myself to rewatch, besides parts of Flux.

Demons of the Punjab is one of my favorite episodes in general. Though, I always hated Rosa, so I never got the relative praise that one got.
