Doom eternals rock paper scissors ammo management gameplay loop was ass, nothing was wrong with 2016s classic gunplay. Agree about the deathmatch mode, 5 vs 5 slayers would be perfect.

how is this different from classic? The only difference is all demons exist on the map in classic which he much harder to do today due to graphics (hence disappearing bodies).

I also would like a return to more 2016 style, less chainsaw, more ammo pickups so you have plan out your usage.

"Stopping" to find a grunt can be optimized so that it's not even breaking the pace. Kinda like this video here.

Sure, having to worry about ammo in a Doom game may not be your thing but balancing everything out in a fast-paced manner is incredibly fun to me. Once I got used to the gameplay loop it never felt like I was breaking the pace of combat to find someone to chainsaw. Of course though, doing things in the same pace as the video I showed is incredibly hard on console, but I try, lol.

It takes two seconds to chainsaw a low ranking enemy for ammo. If you are breaking the pace of a fight due to low ammo its entirely on you. The game takes a while to master but once you learn it the combat flow is incredible.

I kind of want them to try a Doom with something like dark souls 1 level design: not a massive open world where you spend like 20 minutes driving between procedurally generated locations, but a dense deeply interconnected location where everything feels purposeful.

Both recent Dooms are pure sex in terms of video games. Once you unlock the double dash and other perks, it just feels so satisfying to zip around like the god of the battlefield that you are.

The Ancient Gods wasn't that good imo. It was rushed to the point where the final level and climax of the entire story was shipped unfinished and has completely broken AI while recycling assets from the base game
