Kingpin is often portrayed as Daredevils arch nemesis, but I feel hes just as big a part of Spider-Man lore as well.

I guess my question is, when you hear Kingpin does your brain classify him as a Spidey villain or a DD villain?

I guess Daredevil.

I used to "read" (more like, glance at/skim) comics all the time, as a kid, and from my little understanding, Kingpin has been Daredevil's nemesis for decades. the only other villain coming close being Bullseye.

Spider-Man

Which objectively is probably the "wrong" answer, but as a kid I was exposed to much more Spidey media than DareDevil media, and it just kinda stuck.

Daredevil is one of those that was a D-lister until a couple of decades ago when comic books started being destigmatized and thereby became a B-lister.

People don't remember but when they announced the 2008 Iron Man movie it was a total "Who?" moment.

Lol I remember being in middle school when the first Iron Man movie came out and I had to convince my dad to go see it because he thought it sounded dumb as hell. Iron Man is his favorite superhero now

I thought he was pretty big to the punisher too as well as Luke Cage and Iron Fist at least as far as him being responsible for some shit in their lives because most of those guys fight criminal organizations in New York and Kingpin is often the big boss of nearly all underworld crime in New York to the point a lot of his stories involve him becoming the Mayor of the joint, I think that was even in that PS4 Spider Man game

The PS4 game portrayed Kingpin as Peters nemesis during the early years of his career since his actual big bads like Gobin and Doc Ock werent around yet

Both. Wilson Fisk is too big, too expansive to be tied down to just one hero. He's got enough villainy that he can spread it around, y'know? He's just not a one hero guy. That's cool, right?

I'm not a comic person so when I hear Kingpin I literally think of the 90's Farrelly brothers comedy movie with Woody Harrelson, Randy Quaid, and Bill Murray. And I can't believe now that I'm talking about it that it is closing in on damn near 30 years old at this point.

He always felt more "appropriate" as a Daredevil antagonist, to me.

He feels more appropriate as a Daredevil villain, to me, which is why I kinda wish he'd be used more exclusively as such. Him appearing in things like Spiderverse and the Spiderman video game paint him so much as a Spiderman villain, but Spiderman has so many good, classic, useable villains that Kingpin really doesn't need to be used that way.

For me he is a Spider-Man villain.

First came across him in Spider-Man And His Amazing Friends and he was the main overused villain in the 1990's Spider-Man cartoon.

I have seen nothing of Dare Devil.
