i loved both series as a kid but i finished Jak 3 today for the first time in at least a decade today and it was very janky. Still liked it but its not at the level of quality of the main series ratchet games. Jak 3 was my favorite game ever when it came out (i was like 11-12).

I played R&C for the first time a couple of years ago and I was disappointed. It felt so... weirdly dead. Like I was playing half a game. Like they'd forgotten to add the details when they were done. Like trying to remember a dream. Everything's a bit vague and blurry.

I always liked Ratchet and Clank better from the first game. Of course I was already 25 when Jak and Daxter came out and 26 when Ratchet and Clank started.

Also I love the entire Ratchet and Clank series. All the main games. I only really love the first Jak and Daxter game. The 2nd and 3rd game were much different and I didnt enjoy them as much.

I would much rather play the Sly Cooper games over Jak and Daxter.

Ratchet would just be Jak's pet/sidekick. Which makes Clank a sidekick's sidekick. Mathematically, Jak and Daxter is superior.

They're both generic as fuck. Jak is basically Spyro (already in "good but not great" territory) with less interesting characters and slower gameplay. R&C at least has some really good comedy moments, but the gameplay is also pretty meh.

Honestly, I just don't find 3D platformers super appealing for the most part, the major exception being Crash Bandicoot. I do tend to really like 2D ones, which may also explain Crash as it's more like a 2D platformer adapted to 3D rather than a true 3D platformer.
