I was gonna said Die Hard but damn 1988. Does that count?
Canonically the Berlin Wall is still up during that movie so there's no way.

She's All That.

A teen rom/com modernization of My Fair Lady where the girl is a NERD until some guy makes her not a nerd.

Except Rachel Leigh Cook looked cuter as a "nerd".

And Matthew Lillard is a crazy rebound boyfriend and one of the best parts of the movie.
This is my choice. I always liked RLC. Shame she fell off the face of the earth for a decade or more. I thought she had great comedic timing. I think she really needed to do a sitcom tv series. I think like Kat Dennings had. ( No horny in this posting)

Feels like some people are posting "most 90's movies" and others are posting movies filmed in the 90s that they liked.

Like The Breakfast Club could be a most 80s movie, but The Empire Strikes Back would be an 80s movie you liked.

I just found out looking her up that she was Tifa from like Advent Children till 2019. And a character in the original Yakuza. Man Yakuza 1 was weird, Rachel Leigh Cook, Bill Farmer (Goofy), Mark Hamill as Majima.

Man, the "This Is Your Brain On Drugs" girl sure had a weird career.

It's more 70s than 50s

The small black flip phones definitely give it an authentic 70's vibe.
