We were taught cursive as kids in grade school/middle school, but then when I hit college they specifically told us not to use cursive when we wrote shit. Granted, by that point, it was 'Don't even write shit, type it. But if you have to write, don't do cursive, other than your signature."

tbh I've mostly forgotten how to write in cursive.

I can only write my own name and it's still pretty garbage

1 it's been so long since I used it other then with my signature that I honestly can't even remember what all the letters looked like.

Ive written it exclusively since I was like 12

i grew up in an era where it was the norm to write in cursive

1. Even my signature still looks like how it did in 3rd grade, and those are the only letters I remember.

I can remember most of the alphabet as I am actually writing but doing single letters is a no go, and it is generally pretty illegible

Absolutely terrible. My signature gets worse every year. Like if someone collected my signatures across the years it'll look like it's getting washed out from the rain or I'm losing the use of my hand as it progresses.

2, It's pretty legible if I concentrate on it, but it takes me a long time to write more than a handful of words.

About a -10. It's completely awful, and actually trying only improves it slightly.

My writing is terrible, cursive or print. I tried for years to improve it and eventually gave up.

My writing in general is chicken scratch. No matter how much I try, I can't improve. It looks like a 5 year old's writing. Both my parents have/had great handwriting, but I inherited my grandma's, who has even worse writing than me.

5. School had mandatory cursive lessons, and I had extra, in an attempt to remedy what was a motor control issue. I still can't write for long, and I'm slow at it, but I have been asked and paid a few times to do some fancy handwritten templates.
