When he started fighting in RotS I was kind of used to it, so it didn't seem quite as ridiculous.

Its his gimmick. Bringing up popular fictional characters or franchises to ask opinions on them, and then mocking people who dont agree with him.

He used to do it with Dragon Ball (especially the Bulma character), now hes switched to Star Wars.

There was. Star Wars diehards and kids unironically loved it. Everyone else couldn't help but laugh at the sight of Yoda fighting.
