You can pretty much be guaranteed that if the Chicago-Indiana game in two weeks was moved to the United Center they would be guaranteed to set a new WNBA attendance record.

This is also not true lol. Chicago's home attendance is only up ~1000 so far this year.

Hell the Washington game against Chicago didn't even sell half as many tickets as the game against Indiana did even though they moved that game to Capital One Arena too, and Angel Reese was literally born like an hour from there.

Angel reese, despite her claims, has had no effect on numbers.

She's a rookie and so far hasn't even been playing like the best rookie of this years class yet. The Olympics team is probably sending veterans and established all star players

Uh, no. Lots of people "viewed" her first game on a Twitter stream. So even calling them "people" is generous, since Twitter is invested with bots. But any time the link gets clicked it counts as a view. You can't possibly believe millions watched a pre-season game and then haven't been turning out for the actual season, can you?

Nevermind I didn't realize he was talking about Angel Reese. Whoops. Yeah, that is pretty suspect.

I can't wait for the giant weird arguments whether Clark wins Rookie of the Year or not.

They've played 3 of the Top 4 teams in the league so far this year and the Sparks, who are pretty much always in the top half of the league for road attendance.

We'll see how the season goes. I think the fact they still haven't managed to sell out a single home game says a lot though.

Mid-range jumpers are the worst shot in basketball. Move back a couple feet and you get 50% more points while only slightly dropping your percentage. There is a reason that teams shoot a ton of threes now.

Dude shes selling out venues. Her ticket sales by themselves make it quite clear people want to see her. People i know who have never watched a single WNBA game in their entire lives are watching her games.

If this is Team America shouldn't America get to vote on who we want to represent us? If America wants Angel, Clark, and Brink out there playing for them then that is what they should get. Not like any other country is going to beat the American Women's team at basketball. The Aces players on the team alone could defeat any country.

I'm pretty sure Clark could have been in the roster, but it would be **** show either way. There be a lot of Hater pissed, but it would jump start. MJ was in the olympic in his first year in the NBA iirc. There is a case that Clark could have made it, but I wonder if Indiana Fever choking is cause this issue.

I definitely wouldn't say she is hated lol. She has the most fans and is the focus of all the media attention right now, so I think some other players are somewhat jelly of her. But nobody really disputes that she is quite good

One factor to be considered here: unlike most of the pro players attending the Olympics, her WNBA season was preceded by a 40 game college season, with only a month off in between

In Clark's case it doesn't help that she's rubbed elbows with a lot of GOP politicians.

Not sure if she's ever given a political take, but she's a religious girl from Iowa, so you know Republicans will hoover that shit up like Kirby.

clark is basically bird/magic/mj rolled into one for womens basketball. she is responsible for womens college basketball exploding in popularity and has wnba games selling out and moving to bigger arenas. her play style is the most dynamic and exciting the womens game has ever seen and her shooting ability is curryesque.

naturally she has attracted haters and some in wnba are jealous of her massive success. she had an 8 figure endorsement deal before playing a wnba game.

she is still a rookie and while clearly very good, she isnt a top wnba player yet. she is rapidly improving and getting used to the pro level though and will clearly end up being an alltime level player sooner than later.

ultimately its not a big deal she didnt make the olympic team immediately even though she is already a better player than 42 year old diana taurasi
