With how Capcom has been putting out banger after banger I think it's time they could revisit DR and make something cool. As long as they don't let whoever developed 4 touch the series ever again, of course.

I bought 4 but never touched it. 1 and 2 I put in a considerable amount of hours though. That 1.5 sequel/DLC too, I put in like 30~ hours before 2 released.

I played 3 a little bit and may jump back in, but I never got around to actually playing 4, because I wanted to play 3 completely.

So I didn't really see the problems 4 had, though I've heard bad things.

Part of the problem was I jumped into the Xbox One later than the 360 and I just sorta moved on past the console phase of my life so that initial release hype I used to have is generally gone by the time I get around to getting something on PC. Same thing happened with RDR2. I was mega hyped, then they waited a year or so to release on PC and then by the time I got it, I've just let it sit on my backlog.

Oh, I was finally going to play the first game. Maybe I'll wait longer.

I remember when I played the first game, I was on a SDTV so I literally could not read any of the text. Once I upgraded to a HDTV it became a totally different game lol

The vibes in this game were unmatched.

Running through the mall grabbing random weapons to smack zombies with while light hearted music plays through the PA system.

Good times.

Unless they add something new, like co-op for the first game, I see no reason to buy it again

You just camp in the food court on top of a building with a bunch of orange juice.

I remember doing that achievement and just 'checking in' every hour or two to drink, since iirc they made it so you lose health over time or something.

That doesn't sound like infinity mode. Food will run out eventually.

Also, they made Frank look fucking horrible.

In survivor mode, there's only a few orange juices there and the supermarket is closed. You need to be fairly active during those 14 hours, but there is still a good bit of waiting.

One of these days I am actually going to attempt the platinum trophy for dead rising 1. This announcement all got me in the mood n' whatnot.

Watching a video now and I'm starting to remember, you grab a bunch of books to make food and stamina last longer. They had a different strategy of staying outside where the snipers were. I remember just getting a bunch of books (remembered this after watching the video) and just hanging out above a smoothie place near a ledge with a bunch of OJ and maybe coffee creamer then afking for a long time and coming back and checking to make sure I wasn't near death and refilling through the course of the day.

It was a nonsense achievement, but it wasn't that hard if you just chose not to actually play the game for the entire time.

It has been what, 17 years since the game released and probably 15 since I did all these nonsense achievements. So I could be wrong about a detail here or there.

Back to a time when nobody could read the game text and people were melting their Xboxes to get an achievement.

Man, I remember leaving my Xbox on for several weeks straight just to get the Seriously 3.0 achievement from gears 3.

I think I got like 50% there (had to basically play every mode like a thousand times or some shit, but could set it up so bots play a game over and over to do it) and figured fuck this and just quit.

Still waiting for Capcom to do a Breath of Fire Collection.

I remember the teaser dropping at e3 in whatever, and it just looked amazing. Before that, we rarely had many models on the screen, the trailer showing us dozens or hundreds of zombies reaching up for the car while Frank was on top was just straight hype.

I loved the game so much. It could have never disappointed me, even if it bricked my 360 like HCTP bricked my PS2 on a half dozen occasions.

What's the chance it'll improve on the survivor AI and keep the licensed music? The latter feels very unlikely.

Whaaaat?! Man, I 100%ed this game twice including 7 day survivor. I've done like 20 Saint runs of the game. If they're still doing that war crime (DR4) shit then I don't intend to do it again. I'm fine with all the happy memories I've had of it on the 360 and PC.

Ok so started that video and about 30 seconds in, it says that fans were upset they removed the time limit mechanic.

The actual fuck? That's all I ever heard anyone bitch about when it came to this series (that and weapons breaking). I don't remember this huge coalition of fans that were united in loving the time limit mechanic at all. Yet the video claims people hated that they removed it for 4.
