Honestly, I'm fine with this. Better than using Helicopters with snipers perched on them, as if they'd ever in a million years be able to shoot anything if needed.

All I have to do is look at Japan that being hard on drugs is better than being lenient. We're not hard enough here where I live and there's people shooting up on the streets in broad daylight.

Maybe the police should spend their time chasing after actual criminals instead of people who just want to have a good time by themselves.

Fuck the drug laws in this country. So fucking stupid. We should really move to harm reduction, and helping people recover rather than chasing them down and tossing them in jail for sport.

Now let's see them do this in a rich neighborhood.

Drug abuse and addiction affect so many people. It's very sad that there are people in our society that want to protect and support something so destructive.

There's a difference between social work used to help those people, and police who are only doing it to turn a profit for the county and keep people locked up in the for profit prison system.

I definitely do not think arresting drug dealers is a selfish act at all. I think it's actually the rare positive impact of our penal system.

The reality is not all addicts are receptive of help. Also, some cities have a catch and release policy and no profit is made for arrests and locking them up. You think the solution is to just leave criminals alone and those problems will go away by themselves?

Imo, for habitual offenders it should be mandatory rehabilitation at some point or harsher punishments.

The entry level crime of small possession means nothing. Many times Ive just seized and impounded small of narcotics on people without charging them for it. But its the spiral that it leads into it. A lot of drug usage leads people into domestic violence, theft, auto burglaries, home burglaries. People dont look at the wide scope of what drug usage does

Why would these things ever be mutually exclusive? That's a completely dysfunctional approach. I think addicts are victims, and that just does not align with being light on dealers.

I've lived in two cities overrun with heroin abuse. I have seen the damage dealers do. There are kids out here killing other kids with this shit. It's a crisis.
