I don't have tats almost solely just because I don't care enough to design something that I'll be putting on my body.
I may still be open to getting one for the next 5-6 years, if it actually seems like a good idea. So far, it hasn't. --- To/fro from-towards ... Copied to Clipboard!

I have several but gotta admit that I dislike when someone get those unpersonal sticker like tats. Then it just feels meh.

They are definitely very common now. It's pretty weird because I live in the Midwest in a very heavy farming state. Growing up around here in the 80's they were only associated with bikers.
I joined the Navy in 1994 and the Navy has a very active tattoo culture. I ended up with quite a bit because I wanted them even before the Navy. So out where I was on the biggest Navy base in the world people saw your tats and short hair and being in shape and just assumed you were in the Navy. Then I came home in 1999 and grew up a big beard and long hair and everyone looked at me like I was a drug dealing biker. I can't place an exact year when the shift started happening but years later all of a sudden they started popping up everywhere and now I see them on grandmas and stuff all the time. I see middle age and older women with them a lot now. Very elaborate stuff too, and often full sleeve. So I watched it be this thing that wasn't accepted at all to now seeing every mom and grandma everywhere having work done and it not being a big deal. It's been weird. But ultimately I don't care. I never did it to be cool or for other people. I did it for myself and I still enjoy mine. I never have followed fashion or style. I just do what I like and sometimes some of those things end up being popular at a certain point in time for some reason even though I have done them all my life. --- PSN ID: sled_dogs76 60" Pioneer Kuro Elite PRO151FD, Yamaha RX-V3900 A/V Receiver, Oppo DV983-H player. Tattoos can be cool when there's any actual thought put behind them whatsoever, but not every guy needs a tribal armband, and not every girl needs "faith" on her wrist.

I hear some of the ink have carcinogens in them. People should really research it before embedding foreign chemicals in their bodies.
