Not just better, substantially better. Terrifier 2 is a 10/10 slasher classic. Terrifier 1 is 6/10 at best. Some decent scenes but the longest 80 minute movie you'll ever see.

There's not many examples. Maybe a handful or two. Considering there's been thousands upon thousands of sequels, it's in pretty rare air. --- lolAmerica ... Copied to Clipboard!

The Devil's Rejects >>>>> House of 1000 Corpses as wellBoth were great in different ways imo. House of 1k was able to capture the Texas chainsaw magic in a way that other films, even the remake, which I actually liked a lot, couldn't. The remake was too crisp while the originals were lunacy, which 1k did extremely well. Then devils rejects just went in a completely different and awesome direction. Almost felt like a completely different franchise. --- lolAmerica ... Copied to Clipboard!

I don't know if I'd say "better", however it was definitely as good. There was one especially epic kill scene in the sequel that made even me feel uncomfortable (technically 2 if you include her mom). When I saw that movie in theaters they had a special "making of" segment afterwards talking to the creators and they discussed their favorite scene, and I think they both said that one.
I was a little iffy on the addition of all the magic/ghost stuff, though. The first movie was just raw "yeah this dude is out here killing because he fucking loves it", the second was more "oh, but also there's this ghost of a girl he killed helping him and keeping him company". You could just play it off as his psychosis, however other characters observe her as well, so she exists in at least some capacity. --- My metal band, Ivory King, has 2 songs out now - allmylinks.com/ivorykingtx (all of our links there so you can choose which one you'd prefer to use) ...
