I'm leaning toward the money. Given my mortgage and lifestyle, 600k is enough such that I'll probably never feel financial pressure again.

The sleep sounds amazing, but we're not meant to be awake 23 hours a day, even culturally. There's always a chance having my mind active that long might drive me crazy, and even if not, I'd more likely use the bewitching hours to do something destructive instead of productive.

I honest to goodness have perfect sleep every night already. I work 2nd shift so I go to bed whenever Im tired, usually between around 0200 give or take 45 minutes and I always fall asleep within minutes of laying down and I always sleep between 9 and 9.5 hours and wake up naturally fully rested.

I keep the same schedule whether Im working or Im off. I only have to get up to an alarm clock a couple times a year for various reasons. Honestly for having to work I LOVE my schedule. Its the most natural sleeping pattern you can have while still working.

So Ill take the extra cash since I already get perfect sleep.

No it doesn't. I only get 4 hours of sleep a day except from that occasional 20 hour day and I feel like I need less than 4 because 4 feels like I'm sleeping my life away.

Do I really need to have to be able to get to sleep for 30 minutes first? I have a medical condition that's been making even getting to sleep harder and harder, so that's a bigger drawback than you may realize

Bit on still glong with the sleep, cripes. I assume perfect sleep also means I don't have a heart attack or a stroke and die so that's a huge fringe benefit.

As someone who struggles with medically diagnosed insomnia, I would honestly probably choose that. Its a health thing that could result in insanity or death if not dealt with, which sucks.

if I'm forced to sleep 8-10 hours a day and can't get up before then/in deep sleep, I'm gonna say nah. Too many bad things can happen from that. Also turning +30 nap into an 8 hour sleep is awful as well.

4 is an insufficient amount of sleep for even those who don't need much sleep. But the topic said that 30 minutes would become the equivalent of 8-10 hours of optimal sleep. If you can't even stand 4 hours, 30 minutes should be a godscend.

perfect sleep.

today when i slept, a dream appeared and my dog was in it (she was digging in the dirt). i highly doubt i'll have a dog like that again. weighed 87 pounds. loved people to pet her if they weren't scared of her and a very easy vet patient (only wanted a treat for her to endure treatment).

Not that you get 10 hours of sleep in 30 minutes.

I would take the former since I value and need good rest.

Everyone should take the latter as that's way more valuable than that sum.

If somebody has a sleep of 8-10 hours, it takes that duration of time. If it was like that period of time or as if youd slept for that period of time, that would be different.

The Hercules comparison doesnt really work, because, mythological pedantry aside, Hercules is a man. Hours are sleep and sleep is not hours. Its not an apt comparison.
