No. It takes the House and Senate for her to nominate a VP and not having one puts Johnson as #2 in the line of succession. No fucking way they'd give that up and we'd likely see constant assassination attempts on her in order to give us President Johnson.

And even if it wasn't for that, it would require Johnson to do the right thing and he absolutely refuses to, so she would still have no VP.

Biden was behind in the polls in literally every swing state. Not a little bit behind either... in many it wasn't even close. Trump was even polling ahead of Biden in Nevada and New Jersey. Virginia was even on the table.

Now, I know someone is already typing "lol polls." No, polls do not always reflect the result. However, I'd argue that when they are this overwhelming, there's probably something to them. Consider that Trump only needs to pick up 2 or 3 States over 2020. 75% of these polls could be wrong, and Trump could still win. They only needed to be right in a couple places.

Biden was going to lose. Kamala Harris will probably lose too. This is a hail mary to be sure, but it's literally all dems have left to try.

I think something a lot of people aren't factoring in is that Biden was the entire focus in the failing of the handling of the Palestinian genocide happening in Gaza. Harris was calling for a ceasefire before him and there's a real chance we can get those voters back, especially in MI, which would be great.

Harris may be part of his admin, however I haven't heard her blamed for what's happening in Gaza. Biden remaining President and failing on the issue logically shouldn't hurt her.

Because she lost in key states that she didn't even bother campaigning in?

Also, she was incredibly unlikeable and many Dem voters stayed home on election day because of it.

Hilary lost because Comey sabotaged her by reopening up an already finished investigation into her e-mails a WEEK before election.

Just goes to show that three and a half-months before an election is an eternity and any ONE thing at any given time can sink your chances of being elected.

66 million yesterday, just 10 million this morning.

And yes, he is a much more unpopular candidate than 2016 running with an equally despised VP.

Make no mistake, this was the best move they could've made at this point in the game. Biden was on a direct path to losing the election between the optics of that first debate, his declining health, and the assassination attempt on Trump.

As difficult as this and as much as CE was seething about it (myself included), the Democrats and media were right to call on Biden to pull out and he respectfully agreed because he knew another candidate would have a better shot. Harris is undoubtedly their best candidate to put forth with less than 4 months in the election. I just wish they had more time or that they had made this decision much, much earlier in the election. Kamala's great and going hard out of the gate, but I can't help but wonder if the DNC would've chosen someone like Elizabeth Warren or someone who can really bring in the numbers they want to see from both progressives and moderates.

Still seeing ZERO celebration from the conservative side. Anywhere. Check reddit, nothing. Twitter, nothing. None of my Texan conservative Facebook friends have celebrated or gloated. They know this was not a good thing for them in their heart of hearts, even if they try to put up a bold front.

I have seen tons of celebration and relief from Democrats though.
