The one good thing about having Harris and maybe she'll run on it, but she has first hand experience and knowledge of all his corrupt judges he installed. Serving on the judicial committee, she has the ability to basically call them straight up liars and campaign on holding them accountable for their lies and corruption.

Biden just started to transition to judicial reform, hopefully she continues.

There's been no reasoning with them for a long time. I mostly just stopped trying ages ago. Yeah, if Biden was the nominee obviously support him but seriously, there's better options.

Kamala while not ideal I do think has a better shot than Biden and will probably be the option that has the least chance of Republicans fucking up her getting on the ballot since she was already on the ticket. Really, that's the main concern about replacing Biden.

Because she still has to get passed the DNC. I have hope she can, but I have concerns that billionaires won't just back someone else to contest it. Whitmer said she won't challenge and I think Newsom won't either. More infighting would be a disaster, especially if the untested candidate ends up winning, that's why there was a concern.

I don't think the donors will protest if Harris is the nominee. They will back any establishment candidate. I'd be surprised if this wasn't a straightforward coronation of Kamala at the DNC.

No doubt she would continue some of what Biden started, but we aren't even sure she is the main candidate yet. She probably has the best odds of getting it at this point, but the DNC is going to determine who it is officially.

I have a strong suspicion even if she is 90% to get it before we get the DNC it's not official until then.

It could enthuse certain Dems and could convince Inds/moderates who were planning on not voting to go out and vote against the open racist.

Yeah, Donald Trump is super racist, however for far too many people their litmus test is "are they dropping n-bombs tho?", so if Trump did do that there would be no mitigation or defending that as it's a metric even Republicans use. Also the media, as much as they want Trump to win, wouldn't be able to pass up reporting on it because that's clickbait right there.

Democrats are taking a big risk here - they're giving away a big chunk of the incumbency bias, and that historically has paid dividends for whichever party is in control, and they're changing things up relatively late in the game, which is going to make it a challenge to rally support. That said, they're taking a big angle of attack - Biden's age and continued mental capacity - off the table, and could very easily flip that on the Republicans now that they have a candidate in her 50s going up against someone who would be in his 80s before his term ends (and the contrast of a young woman of colour against yet another crusty old white guy is the exact contrast the Dems need). Harris *should* tear Trump apart in a debate, if he bothers to show up - former prosecutor against a guy who can barely string a coherent sentence together should be an absolute romp - and that will hopefully pull people back onboard.
