Lots of random battles but overall really cool. I never got back to do more in the second game. (Never played the first they are completely unrelated) Only beat Throne' chapter and mucked around with others. There is some serious strategy you can plan out. Brute force doesn't always work. I also forget how often you can just boost item use and stuff. I didn't want to use my party healing items because it didn't seem I could buy them but then you can do things to boost single items to heal the party. Octopath Traveler 2 is definitely worth it and better to play on a big screen than a 20" inch laptop as well. Wish I got it for a console. --- "A lesser talent couldn't have pulled it off. I don't think Octopath 2 was goty but Octopath 1 just looked annoying to play and not fun despite some hype for it. I heard 2 was better and I took a chance on it on a Steam sale. I may have dropped it eventually but that game needs to be played on a big screen. The lighting and world is good and it's weird how you can manually shift it from night to day with one button. Seems immersion breaking but it's fine I guess. Better than I suppose going into your inventory and selecting your specified item and then waiting for it work and wow it's night or day. --- "A lesser talent couldn't have pulled it off. Weird I remember everyone making out like it was amazing when it was new. I enjoyed the first chapters for everyone. After that it got too grindy for me or maybe I just wasn't using the battle system optimally. I just know I got to a point where random encounters where wrecking me. --- I put my heart and soul into my work and I fear I have lost my mind in the process ... Copied to Clipboard!

First one isn't great. Like pretty clearly a 5/10. Haven't tried the second --- "I, Garland, will knock you all down!" ... Copied to Clipboard!

The first has the makings of an enjoyable old school rpg, the problem is the progression system makes it piss easy very early on there are 8 characters each with their own set of 4 chapters. But there is no scaling of difficulty, so once youve beaten one characters chapter 4 youre powerful enough to pretty much steamroll the rest of the game spamming AOE attacks, no strategy required whatsoever --- BLACK LIVES MATTER Games: http://backloggery.com/wrldindstries302 \\ Music: http://www.last.fm/user/DrMorberg/ ... I haven't played the second but while i had a fine time with the first one, I really disliked how there was next to no integration of the characters outside their own "paths". It's like you're playing 8 different games (in the same franchise) and it wasn't really enjoyable. Imagine Final Fantasy IV, but the characters don't interact with each other. If you like the old school JRPG nostalgia, they're pretty good. The first one is decent overall, but the second one is better in pretty much every way. I think it's still worth trying the first one though since you can just play it on Game Pass. ... Copied to Clipboard!
