Reminder, Vance called Walz a San Francisco elite with the shamelessness you'd expect from a guy who was lived in San Francisco for 5 years.

So they are doing the same thing they did with John Kerry and are dismissing his military career. They have no shame and no new moves.

FYI Walz was in the military for 24 goddamn years. He did his time, and most Americans don't even agree with the Iraq war. Not like he left before WW2.

Both are common. Canadian and Ohioan roots of my family use papa for grandpa but I think only Canadian side uses nana for grandma.

Incredibly dishonest per usual. Walz RETIRED after TWENTY FOUR years of service to seek public office and then his battalion was deployed. I don't know how anyone knocks somebody for retiring after that much service. Nothing about his situation is "stolen valor".

Unless someone is wearing unearned Combat Action Ribbons, or something similar, the correct response is that all service is service, not just combat related.

It was his choice to leave and run for congress. He attained the higher rank but retired as a lower rank. Who really cares, no one.

Most people in military never see combat zones anyway. I've met and spoken to many military people in my life and none of them ever got to fight. They were like medics, ammunition/demolition techs, nuclear engineers & shit.

from what I can see the right is trying to attack Walz for retiring right before his battalion was deployed to the Iraq war, which as far as I can tell is true, but you cant knock a dude for retiring from the military in his 40s after 24 years of service imo

This is exactly what I was thinking. JD Vance saying this about anyone else is completely ridiculous.

Tim Walz retired before the Iraq War because he didn't agree with the Iraq war. As soon as he entered Congress he supported a resolution condemning W. Bush's deployment plans.

It'd be one thing if he supported wars but was just too cowardly to fight them himself, like many elected Republicans, but that's not the case here.

That was basically my point. I served in the Marine Corps as a RADAR technician. Never saw combat. The amount of times people that never served hear I didn't 'see action' give kind of a look is... Disheartening. A lot of the military is just doing a job.

It's perfectly reasonable when we realize he prepped by watching My Name is Earl reruns.

Not only did he retire when he chose to after 25 years of service, he continued to fight for the military and our veterans in Congress for the next 12 years where he was arguably more effective. The right and JD can kick rocks to such a record.

He brings team building, charisma, empathy and has truly elevated Harris as the right candidate and best leader for our country.

How is it stolen valor when you were actually in the army and a Sergeant? What are they gonna do next? "Umm the National Guard is kinda the wimpy Army group those guys don't get shot at much".

He was in the Guard for 24 years. Cadet Dumpy chickened out, and not even in a conscientious objector way. He felt to privileged to be in the Army.

Walz re-enlisted after 9/11. Donnie went on the radio to arrogantly state that well at least his building is now the tallest in Manhattan.
