we might as well just pass legislation banning this (as well as the subscriptions that activate features already present, as well as DLC that you have already downloaded (but that wont work unless you pay). I get that something expansions are new code and stuff, and, well, okay. Yea the title doesn't exactly fit with what was stated. You might surmise that a mouse that could be built to last forever that has "constant updates" might require some sort of business model for viability, but subscription doesn't seem to be what is being stated.... With that said, I suppose this kind of idea *could* work on the business level customers, if you are guaranteeing consistent updates, improvements, and replacements based on wear and tear. But it feels limited even then to creative types or specific people that need to use a mouse different than most people do. --- Last night I was lying in bed, staring at the stars, and I wondered... This is also one of the reasons why people should push back against microtransactions. You give an inch and they'll continually try to take a mile. In some countries that didn't push back you already have economic models where you merely rent time and have nothing.
