They should be going in order so 8 would be next. I mean why would they go from 7 to 9. Anyways Im choosing ff tatics.

I want to see more FF7 remake style remakes just to see people cry on the internet about it, lol. I hope its part 6 too.

9 is already happening but is not going to be FF7 style. More like Trials of Mana.

we dont know ANYTHING about the 9 remake

I think 9 has the most potential for a remake frankly. Just needs a few gameplay treaks, story edits and more development time for characters.

8 could be the best but would need a complete overhaul in gameplay and especially the story. I still dunno wtf Aliens were doing there. Also the the final boss was.a little to mysterious in my opinion. But not in a good way, kind of like Snoke from the Star Wars sequel trilogy.

Oh no, ill be enjoying the hell out of the game myself and how much I like the game will forever be my main priority for wishing for something. I would freaking love to see characters like shadow, sabin, terra, and especially the ones like gau get the same expanded characterization treatment like the FF7R cast got, or to know more about FF6's world...maybe even more to do in the world of ruin.

The petty spite towards the usual whining about change is just a bonus.

Yea we know their goals but not particularly the reason for them. Collapsing all of time and space for power(?) Is a pretty ambitious one but would have little point afterwards if they actually succeeded.

Never mind how underwhelming disappointing it is for who was otherwise a cool, intimidating, cunning, and very intelligent antagonist up till then.

I think it would be best split into 2 parts as well. World of Balance being part 1, World of Ruin being part 2.

Not feeling Trials of Mana, since Dissidia really got me hooked on the idea of a detailed real-ish FF6 kast, but yeah, if split parts is inevitable, I figured WoB & WoR.

I think your forgetting a few things. Unlike FF8 which only had the single zone in the final area, 6 had at least 4 different things to do before fighting Kefka. It wasn't the biggest zone, but in a potential remake, it offers the most options for new content, as we can revisit locations that weren't in the initial game.

i love Trials of Mana, even more so than the demo of Visions of Mana.

Id like Final Fantasy I remade with the graphics and gameplay of Trials of Mana, as if it were a spin-off set in the same world.

FF8 got a good remake already, too bad 7 didn't get that treatment instead

don't care about the rest of the series except X-2, but X-2 doesn't really need a remake, it's too modern and there's only so much they can do beyond what emulation with higher res and a widescreen hack doesn't already add, so it's redundant to properly remake a game from the PS2 generation onward, just re-release them as HD widescreen versions instead

Slapping higher rez models on top of the exact same PS1 animations for the characters while barely touching up the old existing pre-rendered backgrounds while removing the vibration setting that used to exist in the PS1 original (I do understand that all the modern ports of FF8 that exist today is based off the PC version which removed that vibration) isn't a "remake". This is just a remaster.

I mean if you want that exact same FF7 experience just with the lego models swapped out then the PC modding scene got you covered already, and I can't imagine that it'd take much to run PC FF7 with mods installed.

That's literally exactly what passes as a remake when it's SMRPG or TTYD.

At least when they were Lego men they had a reason for the awkward poses. Cloud wasn't capable of holding those eight inch thick arms down at his sides.

But when they actually look human, and he's just doing a fighter jet pose for no reason, it's a LOT more awkward.

The new edition of FF8 is a remaster, not a remake.

If you want to see an example of a video game remake done right, the gold standards IMO are the Crash and Spyro remakes. Whatever your opinion may be about the games themself, it's hard to deny that they're both very well done remakes.

Technical distinctions are worthless details. In terms of the experience, all that's different is it's prettier and it has a couple extras. A decent remake would actually offer a different experience that you still care about after the first ten minutes.

MGS TTS, for example, gave you entirely new mechanics, remixed the boss fights, upgraded the enemy AI and re-directed all the cutscenes, rerecorded VA, in addition to all the stuff you name. The added the dive roll, first person aim, hanging, hold-ups and tranquilizers. It added caution mode, radio status reports and radio call-ins. They honestly should have done more with that one, too. It needed (more) adjustments to the stage design and bosses to match the mechanics and AI.

6 for certain.

My Feeling is its the next title with the most good will and desire by fans to be updated.

Considering how awful the junction system is, a remake in the current action style Square does would be an improvement. Just keep the card game please! Best part of the game.

Id say keep the junction system just greatly tone down it's importance. Maybe keep it to having elemental and status effect resistance so it's just a thing you set up for certain areas or boss fights
