I would move to my dream spot in the Flathead Valley in North West Montana on a nice property. Not far from Glacier National Park and within a reasonable 1 day distance to Yellowstone National Park as well.

Outside quitting my job of course my life wouldn't be that different. I already have pretty much all I want in life and I have the money to buy whatever I want currently. My house is paid off, my vehicle is paid off, I have very low monthly bills.

So my life consists of reading, listening to music, playing games, watching tv//movies. My life if I won and retired would still be that but with more spare time and obviously after I moved I would spent more time outdoors hiking and enjoying beautiful nature when the weather permitted.

But overall my life wouldn't have some crazy change. I would still pretty much spend the same money I do now. I just wouldn't have to worry about working.

Probably start buying up land on an FM road north of Houston TX so I could resell it in 10-20 years for 50 times what I paid as the suburbs creep further out.

Go to a lawfirm with a reputation more valuable than my winnings.

Set up an LLC and trust to claim my winnings in.

90% immediately gets invested. Remaining amount I use to pay off my mortgage and do a lot of home renovations I was planning on doing slowly through the years.

Let my boss know I'm quitting. I'll give my two weeks because I don't want to be a dick.

Otherwise I keep this shit extremely under wraps. Only close family and friends know.

After that, I dunno. Maybe go get the Paleontology degree my teen self always wanted before he realized paleontologist didn't make money.

Oh I also set up two different trust. One is for charitable donations. The other for family and friends qualified expenses (medical, home downpayments, college tuitions). I'd be hands off on that one. If someone I cared about had a qualifying expense. They submit a request to the trust. That isn't to say I wouldn't be generous in spending on my friends (they'd never pay for a meal/drinks/vacation ever again if I was in attendance), but I wouldn't be a piggy bank they could beg money from.

Pretty much that topic from the other day but on a bigger scale. I want to bring local farming back to communities. Factory farms need to go. I want to start Grocery Stores that deal just in that. Local raised beef etc

I also would help my friend. He's doing good. Cares about kids and their future. Guess a way to pay it forward for what he did for my late friend and I.

Outside of paying off some (relatively small) debt and tuning up my car when needed, I honestly believe I would just end up not touching the vast majority of it and continue living my life normally, working and all. Minus any problems pertaining to money, of course. That'd be ideal to me.

Iunno, prolly not much. No point in investing. The only things I'd want to own for the hell of it are more expensive (eg, the last time the Empire State Building was sold, it was for $2B). There's only so much you can spend on yourself before it becomes pointless (I legit think gold playing stuff is stupid and wouldn't even do it for free). I guess I'd donate some and just will the rest to my kids and live more or less as normal with like a couple percent of it actually going toward myself. A trifling matter of a mansion somewhere and a few decades' worth of extravagant living.

id go all out playing oldschool rs. 200m xp all skills. at most rn i can see myself getting about halfway before life obligations get to me (rn i'm about 23% of the way to 200m all. This took me almost 7000 hours lol...)

Also would like to get all combat achivements which will prob me like a few extra thousand hours cuz I'm a noob at that stuff.

Overall id just go full neet. i'm still holding back rn cuz i know i have to go look for work eventually

• Get a lot of expensive music equipment (like high end headphones)

Other than that, there's not really much else I have in mind. I haven't had much in my life and don't desire for much, either.

Start a charity for providing temporary shelter for homeless kids and mothers by buying up a hotel and renovating it. Im sure I would need lawyer(s) involved to find a way to make it work, and obvious costs. But the goal would be to spend the millions necessary to get it started, then set up a trust (if Im getting the term right) for it to continue to run with an account that I could drop more money. Then pay off the debts of everyone I care about and gift the ones closest to me additional funds. With any remainder, I would probably pay off mortgages at risk of foreclosure in my state, especially people who fell on hard times. But half a billion is a lot of money, so there would be plenty of opportunity.

It's taxes at the top tax bracket for federal taxes, which is 37%.

Have to keep on mind though that

If anyone wins the Powerball or another lottery prize, they can choose to receive the payout in one of two ways.

They can receive the payout as an annuity, which would be paid in thirty graduated payments over 29 years, or

They can receive the money in a lump sum payment.

If you take the lump sum, you are actually given just the "cash value" for it. For example, for Powerball's $1.326 billion jackpot, the cash value was $621 million. That cash value is then what gets taxed
