I try to watch it from time to time. Stoppage time is stupid. I can't stand it. I don't know when the game ends. The players and coaches don't know either. Just stop the clock when the ball is out of play. Off sides rules seem weird to me too. I don't mind it in hockey because it is easy to under stand. Puck must cross preset line first before offensive players. Puck goes back out passed it, offense must vacate and reset. I for the life of me can't figure it out in soccer since it floats based on the defense or something. Mainly it's the stoppage time to me. It is mind bogglingly dumb. --- You know how fads are. An offensive player must have two or more defensive players (usually goalie and one defender) between them and the goal at the time they make a move on the ball in the defending half of the pitch. If they start onsides and smoke past the defense, they're fine. If they start offsides and make a move on the ball, not fine. The very short version of it is there has to be 2 defensive players behind the ball for a forward offensive pass. As for the time. No. Start doing that and it'll turn into football bullshit where games go on for 12 hours. I think it should work like hockey. I would like to see more breaks where a fast guy and a long pass could get behind the defense and stretch the field. I feel like that would make the game more exciting and less pass pass pass in the mid field. I'm sure soccer purist will say that ruins the game. Maybe it does, but I think it would make me more interested in it. In hockey, with the off sides being set to a line and not people, this is possible. I love hockey.
