After that whole dynamic pricing report, I swore them off.

I heard since that it "wasn't as bad as it sounded" but honestly, its just a whole hearted "they can still go fuck themselves" from me.

I don't buy any fast food unless there's a good deal on the app. It's pretty ridiculous how something designed to be a quick cheap meal is now no cheaper than a real restaurant.

Damn now I want a frosty.

They walked back the dynamic pricing and the collective goldfish memory of society has moved on. That said, all fast food is a scam right now. Unless you roll the dice on a billion apps to find deals or coupons, walking straight into a Wendys and getting a daves double medium combo is like $14 here. $16 for chicken sandwiches or a baconator. Everyone else isn't far behind, and some (five guys) are $10 on top of that for a combo.

In no reality is it worth it. You can absolutely go to a sit down restaurant here and pay $12-$15 for a burger and fries that is freshly prepared for you and infinitely better.

I cant justify the prices. The quality went way down and the prices went way up, so idk what they expected.

The last burger I had was so wet that it was almost like theyd boiled it. Also, it had no flavor whatsoever and it was so greasy. The fries were cold and unsalted and the frosty was about the size of a paper bathroom cup. The biggest frosty you can buy is so tiny now. Like Ill pay you, just give me a big one

I used to work for Wendys.

In 2014, they sold out to NPC (National Pizza Company)

Basically, they are now owned by Pizza Hut.

Fast food prices have outpaced inflation and wage increases. If enough people refuse to pay those prices they'll either lower them or go out of business. It won't happen because people are addicted to it and will continue clogging up drive-thrus after a combo is $20.

Hardly. I walked into a Burger King at 9:30 AM and it was dead. No one was in the lobby. Just 2 cars in the Drive Thru.

I saw a car turn into the BK parking lot the other day and had to do a double take. Place is always completely dead.

I'm the same way. I swore them off when they wanted to do surge pricing.

Even if they retract that statement or try to say "Well I meant in the context of if they had cheated", that shit gonna stick in the back of your mind and you never gonna fully trust that person. At the very least, you'd likely never consider them fit to date.

Wendy's may never actually demonstrably engage in dynamic or surge pricing. I don't really care if they do or not. In the back of my mind, if I go to a Wendy's I'm always going to have this nagging thought and mood busting feeling that I'm not paying what someone else paid for the same exact order.

I've never known Burger King to be crowded around here. That's not a busy time of day for fast food anyway.

McDonald's is just as expensive and that shit's packed every single day at lunchtime.

They retracted it, after defending that adding changing menu items would let them lower prices for consumers.

Of course everyone knew that was a lie. No way they would spend all that money to renovate and add expensive new screens to make less money.

I have absolutely no trust or faith they won't quietly introduce this without telling a soul when they eventually do.

I have absolutely every expectation that when they do and they are eventually caught that they'll blame software errors or individual stores for being improperly trained.

Hell, after seeing what Kroger's wants to do with digital price tags and dynamic pricing ( https://www.thestreet.com/retail/kroger-has-alarming-plans-for-digital-price-tags-lawmakers-say ), I fully expect all fast food stores to follow suit.

Which I honestly don't know if the local ones have or not.

Also all they'd have to do is put a sign up that says "Prices listed may not reflect actual cost."

also, I've noticed recently that fast food places don't even tell you the total price of your order until you're at the window they all say something like "We'll have your order total at the window"

I know that's because they're busy and don't actually input until you're already pulling around, but they could just do that same shit for dynamic pricing "Oh you thought it said $4.99? It actually said $5.99. What? Are you going to wait in line again to save a dollar? no, shut the fuck up"

I love Wendy's but holy SHIT does their food make me feel sick afterwards.

I've only been to Wendy's once since they discontinued the bourbon bacon burger, and it was to try the saucy nuggets. I was pissed off.

I wanted to stop going, but that ghost pepper ranch chicken sandwich is like crack.
