The Life of Pablo - Donda Kanye arc will probably be looked back as the swan song period of his career and it climaxed around that time frame. If you kinda ignore Kanye now up to that point he had one of the most legendary runs of all time even with the bumps in the road. I think the fame finally took over once he split with Kim for good and bro is just in a total villain arc now

I'm listening to Graduation again right now. There's a couple of songs on here (Everything I Am, Barry Bonds) that I didn't pay much attention to, but on listening to again damnnnnn they are fantastic.

I actually think there are a few good tracks on Donda 2, Vultures, and Vultures 2 where if you put them all together, you have a damn good album. But all three are just cluttered with other stuff that bogs down the projects as a whole. Maybe I should go back and listen to The Life of Pablo since there are popular songs on there that never hooked me.

The album bloated he shoulda made it a trilogy and retired. Each Donda album shoulda been 7 songs similar to that span of albums he produced (Ye Kids See Ghost ect) before Jesus is King/Donda

Did you see his Korea performance? He actually performed a bunch of his old songs for like 30 seconds each. That's crazy considering I picture him as the kinda dude who hates his previous songs.

ive seen clips of it but I dont appreciate the fact hes not actually performing at the same time it is a flex but thats part of what I mean when I say hes in total villain mode now hes even pissing off day 1s like me now

Dude needs a team that will get his ass in treatment, not continue to perform and make awful music.

In a perfect timeline he would have followed up Graduation with A Good Ass Job and then turned into a Dr. Dre type where he'd produce other rappers' albums.

my first concert was his graduation tour and it was amazing. it was right after his mom passed which was horrible but he closed with an outro of dont stop believing playing in the background and told the crowd his art was the only thing keeping him going and he appreciated everyone coming out and keeping him motivated

Came in to say I don't want that Neo-Nazi platformed like that, however I guess during those specific years would have worked.

I mean no offense, but I think youre gripping that nostalgia too tightly. You have to let go. Ill admit Kanye borders on that insane genius barrierthat doesnt quite exist. But hes like the Kama Sutra; far better in theory than in practice. So many other rappers have outpaced him on his own tracks at this point, its odd to keep holding a candle for him after he went full on antisemitism.

Theres nothing wrong with liking his music or appreciating how his thoughts worked, past tense. But he lost both his talent and his mind. Thats all I wanted to say, coming in to your topic to trash on one of your obvious icons is rude of me. I just hope you hear what Im saying.
