Probably no one.

But Trump wants to put a tariff on goods which will objectively raise the cost.

None of them, when elected, will be both president and a part of the House/Senate. The latter being the people who would actually be in the position of lowering costs potentially.

But if Kamala wins and the dems control both the house and senate?

Can they decrease the cost of living?

Don't forget agencies like FTC that have been super active under Biden, and will continue under Harris, probing grocery stores for why they haven't lowered prices again after supply issues resolved amongst other things.

Trump just plans to dissolve that agency.

Is niether an acceptable answer?

American Conservative policy ultimately just makes cost of living worse in the end. And Liberal policies are more about helping people who arn't you. I'm not saying the latter is bad.

How do tax cuts and deregulation lower cost of living/goods. That's all GOP has. Price controls is anticapitalist. Younger Dems are less neo liberal but need more to get off the corporate teat.

So dem policies which are the opposite of the gop policies, can't reduce it as well?

That doesn't sound right that no matter what cost of living can't be reduced

What are the chances "letting corporations thrive and innovate" will mean, in practice, letting them throw billions into insanely resource-intensive AI bullshit? Or, for example, subsidizing less labor-friendly workarounds of existing industries until they have the market share to jack up prices?

Both democrats and Republicans will continue to over spend, were at over 34 trillion in the national debt only servicing the intrest on it adding a trillion every 100 days this is not sustainable.

Soon after the election we will see a crash that brings down global markets as well with the US dollar loosing half its value from inflation the US has exported throughout the world. Other countries have been dumping dollar reserves due to this, whoever becomes president will be left with this mess.

Harris plans to build millions of homes to lower the cost of rent.

Plans to give bigger first time homebuyer tax credit to let people make down payments.

Plans to give child tax credit to reduce the cost of health care.

Plans to pursue action against grocery companies that are price gouging.

All those things will reduce the cost of living.

The only way to reduce prices is to turbo fuck the country into a massive depression. Pretty sure most people don't want that.

What Kamala instead will try to do is bring down costs people are paying - healthcare, rent, loans, etc... to below/just at inflation rates while trying to get wages to increase. That would in effect lower cost of living.
