The reason why these polls matter, and it's not to get complacent, but because it makes Trump more unstable.

Since Harris got into the race, he's completely lost his shit. Vance as well. They've set out to alienate literally everyone from voting them, and week after week, shit gets crazier and crazier.

Look at Trump's policy changes just in the last 2 months. He never supported any of this, now he's proposed cutting taxes on tips, overtime, SALT caps, and whatever else he's proposed lately. He's flailing and these polls showing him losing are only going to make him more unhinged. Soon he'll start promising every American a million dollars.

Well, I think you have to consider that performances don't happen in a vacuum. Biden's performance was followed by three weeks of the NYT and liberal media calling for him to step down, and now the media is happy to move on to other subjects a week after this more recent debate.

This comparison implies that Democrat and Republican POTUS candidates receive an equal amount of public / media criticism and in-house dissension. If Republicans had the power to convince Trump to drop out of the race and Trump himself had the wherewithal to accept the greater good of doing so, it would have happened eight years ago.

Hard to tell and something I wouldn't count on, but if you look at the poll aggregation sites you can see some clearly fake polls. Anything that has Trump up nationally is fake imo, there is no way he wins the popular vote period.

So yea current polling is not going to be accurate but which direction the actual results sway is hard to tell given that we can't give any trust to the polling.

Trump's entire life for the last 20 years has been a performance so abysmal he should drop out completely.

There is not a single policy stance or action Trump has taken since getting political that wasn't a shit-tier policy, outright lies, or done exclusively to benefit himself, often combining all three at the same time.

We are never going to see an Obama 08 style blowout due to how partisan the country has become. A Reagan style blowout is even more impossible.

I pointed this out a few months back, but you can tell when he fucks up, because he does the same thing he always does after, drop a quick 1-2 line non sequitur then tries again. It's one of those patterns you pick up on. He understands that dead air is bad, but filling the void, no matter how ridiculous, is better than a huge pause. So he fucks up a word, talks about windmills or sharks for a brief second, then gets back to talking about immigration, when he can pronounce the word properly.

All the same houses I saw in 2016 with Trump signs have Trump signs now. I have to wonder how many of these people had 2.3 GPAs. I'd like to think 100%

To be fair, Trump's public relations plan is the "diarrhea fire hose" method. Just an unbroken stream of awfulness directly into the American people's faces.
