I still think the overall story was kind of lacking but it was much improved over Octopath 1. You hate that Square is wasting an IP and resources developing for a Nintendo console. 2: Square Enix fan from back in the day. Still defended Nintendo back during the console wars, and feels that The World Ends With You validated that time. It's become on of your all time favorites, and you hate Octopath for taking the place of a much needed sequel. 3: Old school JRPG fan, sided with Nintendo during the console wars. You spent years suffering from that choice, and years insisting to yourself that Square is trash now. Xenoblade Chronicles was the first exclusive in a decade, so you had to revere it as the greatest JRPG of all time. Octopath is surely inferior.
