Call of Duty: MW3 for me at Gamestop.

Either Black Ops 2 or Borderlands 2. I forget the order they came out but its the last big memories I had. And this was easily over 10 years ago. Was fun times!

Never. A few of us did go to the midnight launch so my buddy could buy... I think Halo 1?

Gears 3 I think. Maybe Gears 2 if not that. Maybe Halo Reach. Unsure when all those games released. Think Gears 3 was 2011.

Anyway, I'm glad this isn't a thing anymore. Midnight movie releases were one thing, but video games are a whole different thing.

Physically in store GTA V and it was pretty cool to see that many people there in the middle of the cornfields and cow pastures of Iowa for a midnight release. There was probably a solid 30 to 40 people there.

Worked out perfect at the time I was working 2nd shift with Tuesday and Wednesdays off so I left work at 2300 and went out to the store and only had to wait a little bit. Saved me a trip to town the next day and already had the game and was on my weekend.

As for non physical midnight release I had Red Dead Redemption II pre-ordered digitally and already pre-downloaded on my PS4 just waiting for it to unlock. I was on my weekend then in 2018 and had Mondays and Tuesdays off, still on 2nd shift.

At midnight I started playing right away and played about 2 hours to get through the initial sequence out of the snowy mountains where the game opens up 100% and lets you do anything you want. Then I saved for the night and went to bed and waited until playing the entire day the next day to start exploring.

Next year when GTA VI comes out I will probably do the same thing. So basically 3 Rockstar games in a row over the course of about 12 years.

I don't remember. I liked going to midnight releases because I'm pretty good friends with the manager of the local GS. I might have gone out for a midnight release for RDR2, but I think it was probably a lot further back than that.

Went with a friend of mine and another for the N64 launch at Walmart probably. That does count, I was there heh. That damn thing had three games at launch. Hehe

We checked everyone out starting at 11pm and gave them their receipts, and then at midnight, handed out the games.

Gamestop didn't even open their DOORS until midnight, meaning their line of people was standing out in the dark when everyone from Best Buy came out with their games and were on their way home at 12:02.

Oh wait. Does digital count? I got the Diablo 3 pre-order, so I played it since the minute or so it launched. I don't remember it being midnight, though

Never been to one. I got up and went to buy a game on release day early in the morning a couple of times, but that was all 20+ years ago.

Funniest thing that ever happened to me was back when GTA IV was releasing I never pre-ordered because it simply isn't needed where I live and decided I would go where ever they got their game and started selling 1st.

At the time Gamestop had decided to start selling the game at 8 pm on a Monday night in the local mall. I called and asked if they had any extra copies for retail sale that were not pre-orders and they told me they did.

I went to the mall and they had two registers. One register was handling all pre-orders and the other register was for any normal business. There was like 100 people in line for the pre-order register going out the store all the way to the food court.

I went to the other register and skipped the entire line and purchased GTA IV as a regular non pre-order sale. Haha. People in line were so pissed. Worked out great. The other dumb part of this is they took so many pre-orders they didn't have enough copies to cover the first wave so they told people they had to wait 2 day for another shipment. I'm not sure why they even had retail copies for non pre-orders that they sold to me but they did. My friend had to end up cancelling his pre-order there and then going to another store and buying it at Midnight. I think he went to Wal-mart. He wasn't happy.

Archizzy that is wild. I bought GTA IV close to when it launched. Probably day of but not midnight. Got the game and guide 15 percent off whoah!!! No problem.

The point of the pre-order is to guarantee a copy strange they would just toss you an extra one. I know that can happen if they have extras but still lawl.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. I've bought other games day 1 in person since then, but Skyrim is probably the last game I'll do a midnight release for.

Shockingly large crowd too. Before that it was the first GTAV release which was insane

Rock Band 3. If I remember right it came out the same day as some much more popular game (u think Fable 3) I think I was the only person there for Rock Band.
