I am getting my oil changed and went for a walk while that was happening. And I did two miles. I was all proud since my feet have been hurting I have not been able to walk like that when I use to do half marathons. But anywho did two miles and only wasted 241 calories . Walking is great. Especially if you go off in one direction, because you have to walk back home, meaning you can't just quit. And 240 calories is a massive amount of extra calories burned. If you had a neutral intake/outtake of calories and added that 240 per day, that would add up to 1,680 calories a week, or 6,720 a month, meaning you burned over 2 pounds of fat a month. I've been walking (and later jogging) every day on a treadmill since 2019. Walking 3.0 mph with 11.5% incline (6.56 angle) for 1/2 mile burns 76 kcal for me. Walking 3.6 mph with 10% incline (5.71 angle) for 1/2 mile burns 67 kcal for me. Jogging 5.6 mph with 1% incline (0.57 angle) for 1/2 mile burns 50 kcal for me. But there is no question that running (or other high intensity cardio) sheds a ton of calories if you do at least 30 minutes. Also, lifting helps transform the body and muscle burns calories. [LFAQs-redacted-quote] I do know that it isn't perfect at all.
