If you're only spending 300, I can't imagine you'll get something all that good with either option.

What do you actually want it for? How's the lighting in your room?

The only type of TV I'd get is OLED until something better comes along. I'd save up for that. They keep getting cheaper and Black Friday's coming up.

I guess it depends on your definition of good. I got a 55 Samsung UHD for $279 in February.

You can absolutely get a very decent tv for $300, especially if you go secondhand.

But a projector at that price point is probably going to suck.

First thing you should do OP is figure out what size you should go for.
