No matter the size of the open world, I prefer to run around rather than fast travel. I also always prefer to go on foot versus horseback, with the sole exception being the motorcycle in BotW (unless you count vehicles in GTA, but I view on foot as the secondary form of movement there). --- Irregardless, for all intensive purposes, I could care less. ... Survival horror I always save the key items in storage even after they are used and they won't be useable for a new game plus. I always save my game very frequently and often 2 times in the save screen because I don't want to replay a section. --- Trying is the first step towards failure, so just dont give it a shot and you cant dissapoint. ... In games that have a minimap that gets revealed as you explore, I obsessively fill in the map. Even when there's nothing there. My college roommate saw me doing this in the Tattooine desert in KotOR and could not understand why anyone would do this. I also hoard resources like you wouldn't believe. Dying without using a healing item is child's play. I'm the kind of guy who figures out you can save bullets in RE4 by doing one headshot, running in for a kick, then knifing them while they try to get up. In shooting games, I reload anytime I'm not actively shooting something. It causes me to reload constantly lol. I also hoard high level healing items to the point that I never use them. In RPGs I feel compelled to open every single chest even though I know that all the chests in the first area of the game will be the lowest level nonsense gear and level 1 healing items. I still feel if I dont I will miss out on some good piece of gear but all these years of experience deep down I know the truth. In GTA - 4 mainly, i couldn't bring myself to hurt any innocent as it just didn't fit nikko's character unless he was fucked with first. Trying to act "normal" for NPCs. Not staring at them, giving them personal space, not jumping around randomly or attacking them even when they don't react to it. I'll break these "rules" if I'm experimenting with the game or if I'm getting impatient with something, but by default, I will automatically try to be normal and polite even when the game doesn't care lol. --- Hambo's alt. ... In RPGs whenever I come across a shop with better equipment I always grind on the overworld until I have enough money to buy it all for all my characters. When I start playing a brand new game, I will 99% of the time go straight to the options menu to poke around what types of settings the game offers before actually starting the game itself. Logically, I should probably see the defaults first in gameplay then adjust, but I just want to see the settings first. I always save twice, even if it's the same save file. I'll save, then immediately overwrite that new save. I think it's some sort of OCD cus I do that when I lock the door when I leave home.
